An absolute disaster would be the understatement of the decade so far!!! If Almunia is our number one next season, I will refuse to watch all matches containing the Spaniard!!! A note on Manuel, I read the stupidest rumour yesterday, in which, it suggested that Atletico Madrid were about to bid for Manuel, which made me delighted only to realise that they have the THREE best young keepers of any squad in the world in Sergio Asenjo, David de Gea and Joel Robles, surely they are not stupid!!! I can confirm that Fiorentina have signed Artur Boruc from Celic in the last 24 hours, which might suggest that Frey is on his way out, now I'm not suggesting he is Arsenal bound, or if we might bid for him, but he would be way better than the entire goal keeping fraternity at Arsenal, including the coaches!!!

Frey would be nice but he is no spring chicken so it'd be a short term fix.

Also note, that the debt situation > isn't worse than it is in part because of Wenger's recruiting policies. > The past few years have been tough economic times we can agree upon, but the debt over those year has fallen from 350m pounds to about 130m odd as of the 2009 financial report which is able to be viewed on Arsenal.com to its members. If that balance is to be maintained, debt will be no problem regardless of worse times ahead and debt will be completely cleared within five years !!! What needs to be maintained, 1. 60 000 a week filling the Emirates 2. Shrewd player recruiting/retention policy 3. Sponsorship/Advertising 4. Board agendas/conflict (I say this because the uncertain nature of takeovers has actually forced the club to be shrewd in expenditure, rather than open slather Chelsea/Man City style) 5. Season ticket pricing freeze!!! If rumours are to be believed, Clichy, van Persie, Sagna and Fabregas are targets for other clubs, I have no doubt that if those players were to be sold (which the wont be) 100m pounds is the minumun return, which in itself could make Arsenal debt free.

Which is 4-5 years more than Almunia ever has provided, or would provide. I would say Almunia has provided about 270 minutes of fine goal keeping in his Arsenal career to date!!! Which in turn is about 270 minutes more than Fabianski, and if I may, Silvestre and Senderos too!!! Glad the latter two are GONE!!!

Some fans seem really bullish on SzczÄsny, though it may be a few years before he's ready. |
