Eyan The Mackem said he had gone to the National Glass Centre in Sunderland for lunch but "felt animated" when he heard the prime minister was there. His complaint was about availability of fast broadband in the North East. He also said he was angry that the PM was not meeting any ordinary people and was instead appearing before "small hand-picked groups". -- His independence showed when Great-granddad Beaton died and made him a bequest of his Masonic regalia. For moral reasons, Dad refused to accept it or to become a Freemason and the Past Masters apron passed to my Uncle John. I have always been proud of that demonstration of integrity. He used to be life long Labour. He was just a bigot.
