From: Justin Credible on 27 Jun 2010 14:32 19:22 Commentary OK, the latest on England is that Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have both said they want Fabio Capello to stay on as coach. Enough of that for now, though, because it is certainly not going to go away. I'm going to concentrate on Argentina v Mexico for most of the next 90 minutes instead - Diego Maradona is just putting his jacket on and the players are in the tunnel, so it would be rude to ignore them, wouldn't it? Hmmm, just a whimsy. So glad the chest-puffing is over for another four years.

For every chest-puffer, there is an equal and opposite gloater - anyone got any ideas for a suitable response? Just look as if we are eating even more humble pie than usual?

Herzlichen Glückwunsch mein freundlicher europäischer Nachbar <clenched teeth!> ;-) The problem it seems is that people here take it so seriously and are not good losers! Other countries seem to enjoy football without all the deep analysis and dissections of their national psyche. It is just a bit of fun. Or have a committed blasphemy?
