: He's Scottish and doesn't like England are definitely doesn't like the

Given how often the FA let him slide when a proper bollocking is called
for in response to some nonsense on the pitch or in the media, that's
actually pretty funny, to say nothing of ironic.

Why?

He's British and entitled to the honour that was bestowed upon him.

Yes, like they let it slide when they banned Rio Ferdinand for nearly
a whole season but gave a small fine to a Manchester City player found
guilty of teh same crime. Or when they basically ordered him to take
United out of the FA Cup to play in some worthless competition in
Brasil and then took a step back and let him take all teh blame?

The FA has always been hard on Ferguson

Why ? A knighthood can be given to many commonwealth citizens as far as
I know. (Sir Edmund Hilary springs to mind). She is our Queen too.

The UK is Alex Ferguson's country of citizenship. England most
definitely is not.

Hasn't Scotland been occupied by England for eons? Like an order of
magnitude longer than Latvia has been independent? I know the distinction
matters to Scottish people but from the outside it seems like a matter of
semantics.
