Of course not. On paper, this England team are no better than Portugal
of 2002 (Portugal qualified first out of a tough group with Netherlands
and Ireland, and had done well in Euro 2000, including putting out
England and Germany)

Meanwhile, back on planet earth. . .I admit I haven't seen much of
the US until recently but based on the last two friendlies I am not
hopeful at all. The first half against Turkey was an incredible
embarrassment for the forwards, even if Dempsey did produce a nice
goal in the second. They defended against themselves.
