So why does he have to stay on the ground rolling around, get stretchers
etc.? You can walk off the field with a broken arm (this I know from
personal experience, and that of several team-mates!). And it sounds
like this isn't a particularly bad fracture, as SGE allegedly hasn't
ruled out Drogba's participation yet.

Terrible news. I noticed J S Park wasn't playing against Spain
and wondered about that. About Drogba, Rene van der Kerkhof may have
been playing with a hairline fracture in 1978 and he was awesome, so
anything is possible.


The Brits are going to miss Ferdinand badly.

Beckenbauer played with a noticeable arm injury in Mexico 70 semifinal
and Jose Luis Brown did the same for Argentina in the final of Mexico
86.

There's also Gamarra in France vs Paraguay of WC'98. But we don't
really know how Drogba's injury compares with theirs.
