You know what's dysfunctional? Meta-discussion.

Meh. Whoever won the World Cup is irrelevant. The bashing on RSS would
happen anyway. In fact, the feeling here is that this year it has been
softer than it would have been had a more polarazing team won (cough
cough Italy cough cough).

If this means this group is disfunctional, so be it. In fact, a fair
case could be made in this regard. It has nothing to do with Spain
winning or the reactions to it, though.

Some very good arguments have been made in favor of and against the
Spanish style and tactics. Some fair points have also been made about
their cleanness or lack thereof. And yes, some senseless stuff has
been busted out as well.

All in all, another regular workday on Usenet.

I agree with the original poster and also have to say that the
general level of the discussion is much lower than in either 2002 or
2006. Since I disappear between major events I think I can be trusted
on that one.

And while we're about that. . . . .there's the mystery of ms.
Barrett. I remember she claimed to be a med student, and therefore,
would now be a doctor. But a google search comes up empty (except for
RSS) which seems to me impossible for an actual doctor. Curioser and
curioser, as they say. . .

Seems the same to me. You always get trolls and newbs during the major
tournaments and now we have the Bob creature. I could be wrong but
posters like Werner, Clarkoo and Jordi were more vocal than in the past.
I enjoyed reading their posts and the tactical discussions were
excellent. You will not find this level of discussion anywhere else.

Yep. The general tone was much much more childish four years ago at
this tine.

True that.
