Just now there is a serious drought in much of Africa, serious fires in Russia, and real serious flooding in Pakistan. Is there any place that is really safe and has a strong economy and it not yet overcrowded and does not have brutally high taxes? Sure there is. It is called the 1950's. Since that time overpopulation has pretty much ruined the quality of life.

So pissed off, he sold up everything and took his family to a lovely island where he built a fine bungalow in the local style. Imported cows, purchased pigs, goats and sheep and sewed grain, all looked after by the friendly locals. It was 1940. The island was Guadalcanal in the Pacific! LC

Flooding for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1931_Huang_He_flood this way before any global warming was thought to have taken effect. In fact the global temperatures fell from then right through the the early eighties. Here's some good examples http://across.co.nz/WorldsWorstDisasters.html |
