Sepp Blatter received a high honor Monday in South Africa, but as with most
things involving the FIFA president, there was apparently no less than a
touch of controversy surrounding the moment.

On the heels of a mostly successful World Cup held in South Africa, Blatter
was honored with the "Order of The Companions of O R Tambo", one of the
nation's highest distinctions for foreign citizens. But according to the
Telegraph UK, Blatter's name was officially listed on the award as "Joseph
Sepp Bellend Blatter".

While "Joseph Sepp Blatter" is correct, "Bellend" is a British slang word
for "penis", and -- not surprisingly -- not part of Blatter's name. It's
believed the word was included as part of Blatter's name after the
74-year-old's Wikipedia page was hacked before government organizers used
the page as a source of reference for the award.

Blatter's Wikipedia page was likely hacked by Brits who were still angry
over the fact that FIFA does not allow the usage of replays in assisting
referees, a stance that cost England a very crucial goal in its round-of-16
loss to Germany.

Neverthelesss, the award was given to Blatter by none other than South
African president Jacob Zuma. "The hosting of the 2010 World Cup has helped
us consolidate the gains we achieved after attaining freedom in 1994," Zuma
said in presenting the award to Blatter.

Asked for a comment about the usage of "Bellend" in Blatter's name, a FIFA
spokesman told The Sun: "I need to communicate the meaning of the word
internally first.
