Of course - a player committing such a foul should be named and shamed.
When you look at the scene, from where he's starting his run towards
Ballack, his only aim was a studs first tackle against Ballack's leg.

No. It deserves even more attention - fouls like this with the clear,
very clear intention of injuring the other player are fortunately very
rare in football. Boateng really should be banned at leat half a season
for something like this.

I can only remember one incident, which can be compared to this
intentional foul: Roy Keane destroying the knee of Haaland.

Maybe, maybe not. I think, Ballack as a leader would have helped, but
you could be right. I still think, that Germany will go past the group stage,
and in KO matches anything can happen on a good day.

Boateng may very well have done it on pursose with the objective of
taking him out of the World Cup. They are in the same group.
I don't understand why FIFA hasn't done something about this kind of
thing. Boateng (and any player who injures someone else) whould be
out of the game as long as Ballack is.

I think Lahm should be the captain. He is Germany's best player, as
far as I'm concerned.

Never know, Ballack is captain, and no doubt an influence on the team, some
payback from his teammates is due!!! Though in a fair way if possible!!!

Shame, shame, and shame, I hate the word injury, it has deprived these three
fine players, and many others a chance to shine on a global scale watched by
absolutely everyone!!! :(

Good for the future, but we are here now, worry about the future in
August!!! But that said, a younger player must make the most of a rare
opportunity!!!

The FA cup match was not too dirty, but Boateng and Ballack did get in each
others way a few times, justice with Boateng missing a penalty!!!

Still a strong team, but us Australians are ready for a fair old battle!!!

I would go for Mertesaker, and Schweinsteiger if Per doesn't want it. No way
Lahm!!!

Maybe, but Ballack is a winner, he always plays hard and fair, and I will
miss that powerful head of his which he usually scores with!!!

Sounds fair, but what happens if Ballack is forced into retirement?
