Italians are the third largest demographic in Australia, so he would be well supported here, and a good portion of the current setup have Italian heritage, making any transition even easier, in fact a solid portion have played or are playing in Italy. It won't happen because its pure speculation at the moment, but I don't mind all the big names being linked to the Australian hot seat, because looking ahead, a big name is absolutely necessary!!!
