Messi would perform considerably better with say Lucho Gonzalez and Gago in midfield and Higuain or Milito in attack instead of another midget. -- http://soccer-europe.com Rss feed : http://soccer-europe.com/RSS/News.xml

It's one thing to say you don't rate him, and another one altogether that you consider him one of the best players in Europe but not a genius. Context or no context. > Riquelme? No, Argentina do not need immobile playmakers. > That has been done and proven ineffective. You mean when he was pulled out from the match with Germany when Arg. was leading 1 - 0 ? Nice way of trying him.

We are not talking about a bus being parked here, we are talking about playing on a team without a proper playmaker who is the focal point of the offense (thereby hogging a lot of the defense's attention). Ronaldo has played most of his career on such teams, Messi has not.

Ronaldo's not a playmaker. He does his best work on the counter- attack, in teams designed to make that work for him. He has his limitations. Just like Messi. |
