Pre Berlusconi.

Trust me I could go through the transfers of any club and pull out a
long list of flops. In this case they're far outweighed by the successes.

Early 90s weren't Red Star Belgrade and Olympic Marseille arguably
better? Also Milan got to avoid English teams, which is not to say
they wouldn't have won in 89 and 90 though.

Henry couldn't hold a candle to Sheva or Kaka? Didn't Henry have one
season where he had like over 20 goals and assists?

Never heard of that. What do you have to back that theory up?

I find the whole business of religion profoundly interesting. But it
does mystify me that otherwise intelligent people take it seriously.

Because they are teh scum of the earth who buy success with money they
did not earn?

This seasons ideal HSV lineup has 3-4 players bought from Bayern:
Jansen, Trochowski, Ze Roberto and maybe Guerrero. Plus Jarolim who
came via Nrnberg.

Bayern has 1-2 HSV players: Van Buyten and maybe Olic. Plus Butt who
came via Leverkusen and Benfica.

And then there's recent transfers like Hummels to Dortmund, Baumjohann to
Schalke and, above all, Kroos to Leverkusen. That last one could cost a
championship.
