They still had lot's of money to spend.

Milan were late 80's, just a few years later.

Baresi, Maldini, Tassotti, Costacurta, Albertini were from the youth team.

The results prove it, and the bond between players that remained.

Oddly, I quite liked them. Although probably not "oddly", as Argentina
tend to be a team I root for in World Cups. But I acknowledge that the
1990 team were pretty much universally despised, far too cynical, if
not downright dirty, employing anti-football to get to the final.

> Don Revie's Leeds United

Even to this day, younger fans of teams with no real reason to hate
Leeds refer to the team as "Dirty Leeds". It takes something to be
hated 40 years on.

> Greece 2004

As FF said, hate is too strong a word, heck, I'm Turkish and I don't
hate them! They were downright boring to watch, not just as a team but
in terms of the effect they had on the match as a whole, really
strangling any slight glimmer of enjoyment to be had from the game.
BUT, to be fair, they did what they had to do against techically
superior teams with more hype and more top level experience. That is
forgivable in my view.

> Juventus Always

Yes, even before Calciopoli they were hated. I'll always remember them
as the team who capitalised on a political spat between Turkey and
Italy to delay a Champions League game with Galatasaray by a week.
Others will dislike them for other reasons.

> Man U post - 93

Just don't get me started. But basically, another team that takes the
enjoyment out of the game, only this time by scoring all those
inevitable last minute winners or flukey goals. Insufferable
supporters. A club that embraced big money a long time before most
other English clubs. Yes, I hate them.

> Italy Always

The most boring World Champions in the most boring World Cup I have
ever watched. Obscene good fortune against Nigeria and Spain in WC94
and against Australia in 2006..........BUT also obscene misfortune
against South Korea in WC2002 and Sweden / Denmark in Euro 2004. I
really wouldn't say I hate them, or even dislike them for that matter,
but I would tend to root for an underdog against them. If only they
would play more positive football they'd probably become a team
neutrals would cheer for.

> Arsenal 86 - 95

Its amazing to think that the young generation have only known Arsenal
as an attacking, exciting team. If only they knew the horror.........

Well, to be completely honest he swindled the money from russian
peasants in criminal or near-crminal ways.
