Because you claimed it was one of the most noteworthy events of the
entire decade and it's the only league specific inclusion on your list.
How was that more noteworthy than Bordeaux winning the French league,
ending Lyon's dominance? Leverkusen blowing the league title in 2000 on
the last day of the season after Bayern scored an equaliser in the 4th
minute of injury? Lazio snatching the scudetto from Juventus at the turn
of the decade, as they watched on after Collina held up the start of the
second half for 90 minutes, a seminal moment in Serie A and his career?
It wasn't. These stories were just as much of a big deal in their
respective leagues. I find it hard to believe 'The Invincibles' was a
big deal outside of the EPL especially as that season Arsenal weren't so
invincible in Europe.

No it wasn't, I mentioned Calciopoli, Barcelona's excellent season,
and Real's spending spree, while neglecting to mention Chelsea's rise
to prominence.

These events may well be worthy of inclusion, and that's why I posted
this list, as a starting point for discussion. The irony is, you are
accusing me of a pro-EPL bias, when in fact it may be your anti-EPL
bias that's causing your negative reaction.

I think all rss's should submit a top 10, then we can take the most voted
events and compile an official RSS top 10 list.

These are my top 10 moments of the decade (the ones I can recall right now).

10 Italy losing to Korea in WC 2002, with crappy refereeing, and then the
same crappy refereeing with Korea - Spain.

9 Mourinho ruining Shevchenko's career at Chelsea.

8 Kaka's brilliant performance in both matches against ManU in CL semifinal.

7 Henry's handball against Ireland

6 Milan winning FIFA Club World Cup

5 Juventus loses Serie A title in Perugia after sudden storm. Collina says
the match should be played even thought he ball doesn't bounce ont he pitch,
and Lazio wins Serie A title

4 Inter loses against Lazio in their last match and they lose Serie A title.
Ronald cries on the bench.

3 Milan winning UCL final against Liverpool 3-1

2 Milan throwing away win against Liverpool in UCL final after being up 3-0
at halftime

1. Zidane headbutting his way off the pitch in a WC 2006 final

Palermo did too (1979 I thnk). In fact, over 100 teams have done it
worldwide in the history of football.
